"Life is like a game of cards. We have no control over the hand we are dealt. However, the game depends on how well we make use of the cards we are dealt with."

How can a smile change the world?

You may be asking yourself, quite literally, how can a smile change the world if you haven't already wondered if, in case, it was possible at all. How can one smile on my face lead to world peace? Very good question my friend.

Now brace yourself for the answer.

Her rambling can be seen as a bit annoying but she makes some really great points.

Flaunt your figures, ladies (regardless of your dress size) because it is your right. And you are beautiful.

Imagine having $86,400 being put in your bank account every single day. What would you do with that money? I bet you wouldn't waste a single dollar, would you? Now think of every dollar as every minute. We are granted the privilege of having 86,400 minutes every single day. Make each one count.

Are you there, vodka? It's me, Chelsea.

I officially finished my first leisure book of the summer!
Chelsea Handler definitely takes the reader on the ride of their life in her shoes and in her outrageously honest and hilarious thoughts throughout the more memorable moments of her life.
Are you there, Vodka? It's me, Chelsea is a very light and fun read for anybody and everybody. Her blatant sense of humour and the outrageously ridiculous things that come out of her mouth are sure to keep everyone thoroughly entertained from cover to cover.
Chelsea Handler does not hold back at all. If you're looking for politically correct, classy, and sophisticated. You have opened the wrong book, my friend. Chelsea Handler is anything and everything but. Her recounts of her ridiculous life events are a true testament to living for oneself and rejoicing in the lemons life throws at us; to not take everything seriously and to profit from a good laugh here and there.
Cheers to an incredible first summer read.

Beauty redefined.

I came across this video today while surfing Facebook and this woman is nothing short of incredible!
Like a Dove commercial, this woman proudly bears her body while talking about self esteem and body image.
I commend her for being able to stand half clothed, in the skin she's in when the society she lives in is telling her that her body is not the ideal shape. She reminds us that beauty comes from within and not even society can tell her that she is anything less than beautiful.
She raises an important point at the end of the video. You are what you believe. Your thoughts are what make you who you are. If you think you're beautiful. You are beautiful. If you think you're fat. You are fat. If you think you are perfect just the way you are. Then that is what you are.
You are what you create. Create a masterpiece and live it.

Smile for Change Pilot. Welcome.

Welcome to my new blog!

I've learned a lot these past couple months; about myself, on what I'd like to pursue in the future, on how to write/blog, and many other random fun things that have made me into who I am today. This revamped version of my blog will include previous posts that I think are worthy of reposting and other themes/subjects that plague my mind as well as my daily adventures, development issues, and other random things that I may feel like posting.

Now you may be wondering what 'Smile for Change' even means. For all those who know me personally, the one thing you know is that I'm always smiling and/or laughing. There's a whole story behind when and why I started smiling so often in the first place but I'll save it for another post. I truly believe that something as small as a smile, that comes from the heart, can make a world of a difference to the person it's directed to. You never know what other people are going through so to offer them a warm smile, that only takes a split second and only 17 muscles, can instantly boost their mood and perhaps even brighten their day. Most often than not, the recipient of that smile often reciprocates it in acknowledgement. You see, you have the power to change someone's mood for a split second. Now imagine how much power you have if you smile at every person on the street and everyone you meet. Crazy, huh?

We often forget how much potential we have within us that goes untapped. And often underestimate the power of change within small acts. You don't need a million dollars to make a change. You don't need a PhD to make a change. You don't need to make grand gestures either. All you need is an open heart and a willingness to stand up for what you believe in. Integrity by example and be the change.

That is the basis of who I am. I believe in the power of small things that amount to bigger differences. I believe that kindness is contagious. And it all starts with a smile.

I warmly welcome you to my world where I will not hold back, not fearing judgement, but to spread my message that smiles really can make a change.

:)
